CHARLES STICKLER ASSOCIATES
Q & A
EMPLOYERS
Q. Why do we have to pay the $5000 retainer up front?
A. We only work on a retained basis. These funds are used to help defray some of the up front costs such as research and our time. Contingency firms gather a large number of assignments and only work on those positions that they feel are easy to fill. We give all our positions our full attention despite the degree of difficulty.
Q. What if you do not find us the person to fill our opening?
A. We will provide a credit for any future assignment.
Q. How long does a search take?
A. We try to move as fast as possible; Most are complete within 30 to 60 days. Each assignment is unique and we will give you an estimate as we review your requirements.
Q. Where do you find the people that you place?
A. We start with our database of over 15,000 metals people, but that is just where we start. We identify those companies that are in the same market and we recruit people in positions similar to your opening. We also source contacts we have for recommendations.
Q. I’m replacing an employee, what kind of confidentiality do I have when talking to you?
A. We conduct most of our searches on a confidential/blind basis. We maintain all information as confidential. If you are conducting a confidential replacement, candidates are screened without knowledge of who our client is. Because the industry is so small and word travels fast, it is imperative not to give any information to potential candidates that would allow them to deduce who the company is. Of course, with our industry knowledge, we are adept at maneuvering in that environment.
Q. What if we find the person on our own or if we have been talking to someone already.
A. There would be no additional charge and we will give you a credit of the retained amount ($5,000) toward your next hire. We also will help you with references and help you with the employment package.
